2019 Free Decoy Carving Workshop

Chase Luker of the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission will offer a free decoy carving workshop at 11:00AM on December 7, 2019 at Mattamuskeet National Wildlife Refuge. To register, email Chase at <chase.luker@ncwildlife.org>.

Parking: There will be no workshop parking at the refuge. Park at Mattamuskeet School and a shuttle will deliver you to the refuge. Board the shuttle not later than 10:30AM.

2019 ALIGATOR PRESENTATION AT 11:45AM

ON MATTAMUSKEET NWR ADJACENT TO THE HEADQUARTERS BLDG.

Alicia Davis is an alligator biologist with the NC Wildlife Resources Commission. She is currently responsible for the management and coordination of a wide range of alligator-related projects. Alicia received her bachelor’s degree in Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology from NC State University in 2015 with a minor in Zoology.

Ms. Davis is a member of the Wildlife Society (national and state chapters), the North Carolina Herpetological Society, NC Partners in Amphibian and Reptile Conservation, and the Southeastern Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies’ Alligator Working Group.

2019 Bird Viewing Tram Tours

2019 TRAM TOURS ARE SOLD OUT!

The tickets for the Swan Days tram tours on Dec. 7, 2019 to view the swans and ducks on Lake Mattamuskeet are sold out.

“NO-SHOW” TRAM TOUR SEATS WILL BE SOLD FOR CASH ON DEC. 7 JUST PRIOR TO EACH TOUR. FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVED. NO ADVANCE RESERVATIONS.

The shuttle for the tram tours leave the school sharply at 7:45am, 9:30am, 12:20pm, and 2:15pm. If you have a ticket or want to stand by for a no-show space, don’t be late! First-come, first-served for standby no-show spaces.
